He Passed the USMLE Step 1!
According to the med-school flowchart this means we are halfway through the med-school process. It also means that he gets to start the fun part of medicine: working in hospitals.
We don't know yet where he will be placed for his 3rd and 4th year. As with everything else, it's not entirely up to him. All prayers and well wishes would be appreciated towards him staying local or at least West Coast.
Other than that big news I don't really have anything interesting or pressing to report. Most week days you'll find me doing 9-5 at my edtech job and then 5-9 at PDS. I've been soaking up all the attention from my husband who has a lot less on his plate since taking the Step and we've been having fun going on as many dates as our budget will allow.

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you guys. When the weather is warm, we like to have picnics at the gardens. Is it warm enough for that there yet? If it is, I'm totally jealous. :)
hooray! congrats! step 1 is the hardest of all the step tests (or so the hubby thought). good luck getting rotations in all the places you want. :)
what a relief!! congrats to you guys! now the real fun begins!
Wooohooo!! Go husband! That's fantastic news, and I know a big weight off your shoulders.
For cheap dates, Mel and I love going on lazy, lingering walks around the park, and taking a blanket so that if we want to stop and just hang out for a bit we can. Sometimes we take the latest books we're reading and snacks, to have an impromptu picnic.
That is awesome! You must be so proud of him! You should be proud of yourself, too, because the spouse of a medical student also endures a lot on the personal side of the situation. Cheers to the halfway point, guys!
Congratulations to BOTH of you! :)
